This pair of early 20th century Codd bottles, wonderfully decorative on their own but make a great vase.
Codd bottles were made to hold carbonated drinks and are named after the inventor Hiram Codd who patented the design in 1872. What made the bottle unique was the use of a marble which when under pressure from the carbonation would provide a seal to the top.
